NRI reaches out to fire victims
FATEHABAD: Moved by the plight of people in scores of villages in this district where hundreds were rendered homeless as a raging inferno engulfed everything that came its way on Tuesday, Canada-based Resham Singh Bhangal went out of the way to provide succour to them on Friday.
When he found that aid to the affected was getting delayed, he set out for the villages with currency notes and bags of wheat flour to distribute among the villager, said a source.

Bhangal, 65, who hails from Dhani Masitanwali village and settled in Canada for the last 40 years, was in his native village when the fire broke out and spread across various villages, claiming the life of a woman, over 10 heads of cattle and more than 100 houses. Shehnal and Jallopur villages near Ratia were the worst affected.
Having seen huge balls of fire rise into the sky from atop his house, Bhangal was pained by the sufferings of villagers who fled their homes and, therefore, approached several people and NGOs to provide aid to the victims. I went to see the affected areas the next morning and decided to be of some help. I spoke to my wife Kulwinder Kaur about this wish and she was more than eager to assist me in it, said Bhangal.
